Job Summary
Administer occupational therapy programs under supervision, focusing on functional skills like activities of daily living, pre-vocational, and vocational homemaking tasks. Instruct and motivate patients/residents to improve these skills while observing treatments to compile data on progress and responses. Assist in evaluating daily living capacities, designing adaptive equipment, and teaching families on care and equipment use. Document progress toward established goals and maintain billing records. Adhere to infection control precautions, safety protocols, and body mechanics policies. Maintain confidentiality, participate in staff meetings, and attend educational programs to maintain licensure. Perform miscellaneous assignments as required while ensuring a safe, dignified environment for residents and guests.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed graduate of an accredited two-year Occupational Therapist Assistant program
- Certified according to national requirements
- Licensed in the state where practicing if required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Capability to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook
- Work in a safety conscious manner
- Compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Compliance with company policies and procedures
- Interact in a tactful, diplomatic and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
- Maintain a dependable attendance record
- Adherence to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene and dress code
