Job Summary
Design coherent instruction based on subject matter, curriculum goals, and current practices to achieve desired learning objectives. Diagnose individual and group needs, plan appropriate resource use, and evaluate student progress using standardized tests and assessment strategies. Create meaningful learning experiences that differentiate instruction for diverse students while implementing classroom management policies to ensure safety and positive engagement. Maintain confidentiality, foster partnerships with families, and collaborate with staff and community resources to support student success. Participate in curriculum development, faculty committees, and professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree
- appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) for position as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
- demonstrated leadership qualities
- personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, staff, administrators, and parents
- Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught
- Thorough knowledge of elementary, secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching
- Thorough knowledge of school division rules, regulations and procedures
- ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior
- ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, administration, and parents
