Job Summary
Interact closely with clients to assist them in problem-solving, de-escalate subjects who become upset or belligerent, and conduct groups as needed per CRU schedule. Perform orthostatic vital signs collection, admit and discharge study participants, and complete procedures such as weight, height, and waist/hip circumference measurements. Provide meals and snacks while ensuring subjects adhere to protocol-specific dietary and smoking restrictions, and assist with nightly room and equipment checks. Gather medical and psychiatric history by interviewing subjects and collect study data including screening forms and admission documents. This PRN psychiatric technician role involves direct contact with patients participating in clinical trials, reporting to the charge person under their guidance.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with persons with major mental illnesses (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression) as a psych tech in inpatient/acute care settings
