• •Ability to report changes in resident condition to Nurse Leader/Neighborhood Nurse
• •Ability to report accidents/incidents as they occur
• •Ability to prepare rooms for receiving residents
• •Ability to greet and escort residents
• •Ability to make residents comfortable
• •Ability to inventory and mark resident personal possessions
• •Ability to store resident clothing
• •Ability to assist residents with packing personal possessions
• •Ability to transport residents to new rooms or receiving areas
• •Ability to assist with loading/unloading residents from vehicles
• •Ability to perform assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures
• •Ability to follow work assignments and/or work schedules

• •Ability to check and report bowel movements and character of stools
• •Ability to collect specimens
• •Ability to assist residents in preparing for medical tests
• •Ability to assist residents in preparing for activity and social programs
• •Ability to assist in transporting residents to/from appointments, activities and social programs
• •Ability to assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting residents using gait belts/mechanical lifts
• •Ability to assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices
• •Ability to perform restorative procedures
• •Ability to provide eye and ear care
• •Ability to assist in preparing the resident for a physical examination
• •Ability to weigh and measure residents
• •Ability to measure and record temperatures, pulse, respirations (TPRs) and blood pressure
• •Ability to answer resident calls promptly
• •Ability to check residents who are unable to call for help
• •Ability to visit with residents who cannot or will not attend activities
• •Ability to maintain a clean activities space, cupboards, appliances, and storage room
• •Ability to accompany residents on community outings
• •Ability to provide proper care for facility pets
• •Ability to assist with care of the dying resident
• •Ability to provide post-mortem care
• •Ability to observe and report the presence of Red (pressure) areas and skin breakdown
• •Ability to provide BID (in-dwelling) catheter care and empty drainage bag every shift
• •Ability to provide perineal care per facilitys policy
• •Ability to assist with the application of slings, elastic bandages, binders, splints
• •Ability to provide daily range of motion exercises
• •Ability to turn bedfast residents at least every two (2) hours
• •Ability to perform special treatments as instructed
• •Ability to observe disoriented and comatose residents
• •Ability to turn all medications found in the residents room/possession over to the Neighborhood Nurse/Nurse Leader
• •Ability to watch for and report any change in room temperature, ventilation, lighting
• •Ability to prepare residents for meals
• •Ability to serve food trays and assist with feeding
• •Ability to assist residents with identifying food arrangements
• •Ability to record the residents food/fluid intake
• •Ability to report changes in the residents eating habits
• •Ability to keep residents water containers filled with fresh water
• •Ability to serve between meal and bedtime snacks
• •Ability to perform after meal care
• •Ability to check rooms for food articles
• •Ability to handle and prepare foods and fluids in accordance with sanitary regulations
• •Ability to clean kitchen after each use
• •Ability to participate in scheduled training and educational classes
• •Ability to participate in scheduled orientation programs and activities
• •Ability to participate in annual mandated OSHA and CDC in-service training programs
• •Ability to participate in advance directive in-service training programs
• •Ability to participate in an in-service training program prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood/body fluids
• •Ability to wash hands before and after performing any service for the resident
• •Ability to keep the nurses call system within easy reach of the resident
• •Ability to immediately notify the Nurse Leader/Neighborhood Nurse of any resident leaving/missing from the facility
• •Ability to follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties
• •Ability to keep residents personal possessions off the floor and properly stored
• •Ability to keep floors dry and wipe up spills immediately
• •Ability to keep excess supplies and equipment off the floor
• •Ability to wash wheelchairs, walkers, etc.
• •Ability to clean, disinfect, and return all resident care equipment to its designated storage area
• •Ability to perform routine housekeeping duties
• •Ability to store all tools, equipment and supplies before leaving work area
• •Ability to report all hazardous conditions and equipment
• •Ability to report all safety violations
• •Ability to follow established smoking regulations
• •Ability to follow established isolation precautions and procedures
• •Ability to wash hands before entering and after leaving resident rooms
• •Ability to follow established procedures in the use and disposal of personal protective equipment
• •Ability to use only the equipment you have been trained to use
