Job Summary
Provide medical and therapeutic care under the direction of nursing or clinical staff, ensuring patient safety through timely observation rounds and 1:1 care as needed. Assist with transferring, lifting, and turning patients while maintaining clean, uncluttered rooms and accurate vital sign documentation. Engage patients in activities to encourage treatment goals, apply de-escalation techniques for behavioral management, and reinforce learned skills for improved wellness. Perform daily hygiene tasks such as feeding, bathing, and grooming while documenting clinical information in patient records. Collaborate with the health care team to treat and rehabilitate the facility population, resolving complaints and maintaining a positive, supportive environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification as nursing assistant per state requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or license, per state requirements
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification
- First aid
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in behavioral health setting knowledge and experience working with the population of the facility
