Job Summary
Monitor and interact with consumers to provide training on basic living skills, psychoeducational services, and implementation of behavioral plans. Assist with personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and household chores while ensuring adherence to posted schedules and safety protocols. Transport consumers to appointments and de-escalate crisis situations proactively. Document services in progress notes, participate in shift hand-offs, and attend staff meetings. Work at any Adult Residential Services facility as staffing needs dictate.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant in Alabama
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of current liability insurance
- 23 years of age or older
- Application of adult specific competencies
- Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in the adult population
- Knowledge of cultural diversity
- Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, and interventions common to acute psychotic consumers, as well as, to non-violent crisis intervention practices
- Knowledge of educational methods to adults with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders
- Knowledge of utilizing the electronic health record
- Successful completion of Medication Assistance Certification (MAC)
- Successful completion of Defensive Driving program
- Successful completion of specialized Relias Training Plans
