Job Summary
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Direct Care Staff provides supportive care to medically fragile children in the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role assists with daily living activities, safety monitoring, basic clinical support, and maintaining a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment. Essential duties include assisting with feeding, hygiene, diapering, grooming, dressing, and positioning; supporting safe mobility and comfort; monitoring and reporting changes to the supervising RN; assisting with emergency response and infection control; maintaining a clean, safe environment; aiding developmental and social stimulation activities; and participating in required staff training and competencies. Requires CPR certification, ability to follow instructions under RN supervision, and adherence to Florida PPEC regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, or relevant pediatric care experience.
- Minimum one year experience caring for infants or toddlers.
- Current CPR certification.
- Successful background screening and TB clearance in accordance with state requirements.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under RN supervision.
