Job Summary

Provide certified nursing assistant services to assigned residents in accordance with care plans, facility policies, and procedures. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting them to and from beds, chairs, bathtubs, and wheelchairs. Coordinate dining room services by setting up, cleaning, and delivering meal trays, while documenting intake and tracking nutritional supplements. Monitor resident conditions by weighing residents, tracking skin integrity, and reporting pressure areas or changes to the nurse and supervisor. Complete daily flow sheets, attend care-plan meetings, and participate in QAPI or assessment activities as needed. Maintain confidentiality, adhere to infection control policies, and report any noncompliance, abuse allegations, or occupational exposures immediately.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • No disciplinary action in effect against certification
  • At least one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
  • Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family and staff
  • Must be able to relay information concerning a resident's condition
  • Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Meets general health requirements according to facility policy, including medical and physical exams and checking immunity status to various infectious diseases
  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
  • Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, and stoop for extended periods
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to perform resident care
  • Ability to lift, move, push or pull a minimum of 35 pounds
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Ability to work beyond assigned working hours, including weekends and holidays, when necessary
