Job Summary
Perform nursing procedures and basic patient care tasks under RN or LPN supervision. Provide or assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and positioning. Transport residents to therapy and ensure they are prepared for school, clinic, or hospital visits. Monitor vital signs, report abnormalities, and document care on flow sheets. Make hourly checks on incontinent residents, reposition bedfast residents, and maintain a clean care area. Assist co-workers with lifting and adhere to infection control policies. Report unsafe conditions, child abuse, or policy violations immediately to the Nurse Care Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of NYS approved Nurse Assistant Certification Program
- Active CNA Certification on NYS Nurse Aide Registry
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
- Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience as Nurse's Aide
