Job Summary
Conduct daily patient care for children, including bathing, grooming, feeding, positioning, and therapeutic activities under nursing supervision. Perform assigned duties such as transporting residents to therapy, documenting flow sheets, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring safety through hourly checks and skin inspections. Assist with activities of daily living, apply safety restraints when directed, and encourage self-help measures to promote independence. Maintain clean care areas, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and promptly report any abnormal behaviors or unsafe conditions to the Nurse's Charge.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of NYS approved Nurse Assistant Certification Program
- Active CNA Certification on NYS Prometric Nurse Aide Registry
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
- Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience as Nurse's Aide preferred
- Experience working with children
