Job Summary
Conduct Activities of Daily Living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and dining while documenting care and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Answer resident call bells within 3-6 minutes, administer mouth care, and serve meals according to schedules. Transfer, lift, and turn residents using proper body mechanics; report pain, skin issues, or behavioral changes to the staff nurse immediately. Monitor vital signs, record data on flow sheets, and ensure isolation precautions and hand hygiene are followed. Transport residents to activities, therapy, and appointments; correct safety hazards in resident rooms or report them to supervisors. Complete care plans, maintenance requests, and end-of-shift reports before shift conclusion.
Required Qualifications
- Must have completed 80-hour certification courses in Geriatric Nursing or is presently enrolled
- Must have passed Virginia NACEP test after completion of 80-hour certification course
- Must have current Nursing Assistant license through Virginia Board of Nursing
- Must have CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and have good organizational skills
- Ability to work in stressful environment and deal with medical emergency situations
- Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals
