Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) functions within the department of nursing as a multi-skilled practitioner with dual responsibilities: patient care and clerk tasks at the nurses’ station. In patient care, assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment. In clerk duties, handles admission/discharge/pre-procedure/post-procedure/transfer tasks and operates the unit phone, call-light, visual monitor, and telemetry alarm reporting to the RN. The role emphasizes organizing time within each shift to maximize nursing care delivery and requires flexibility to cover OB and/or ER as needed. This is a part-time, days position with a 0.75 FTE schedule (60 hours/pay period), including a rotating weekend/holiday night shift schedule. Benefits eligible with the posted work pattern.
Required Qualifications
- Current CNA certificate status active or remains eligible per Wisconsin Registry guidelines
- CPR certification is required (or completed within 60 days of hire)
- Professional manner
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility
- Knowledge regarding medical terminology
- Positive attitude
- Previous health care related experience preferred
- Clerical and computer experience preferred
