Job Summary
Provide non-professional routine nursing care to residents in accordance with facility and state guidelines, including bathing, grooming, oral care, and incontinence management. Perform vital signs, assist with diet and fluids, and implement special care needs such as catheter and skin care. Demonstrate proper lifting and transferring techniques while maintaining infection control and safety protocols. Report physical or verbal abuse immediately and participate in establishing resident care plans. Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and the nursing team while attending scheduled training and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an 80-120 hour nursing assistant course
- registered to practice in the state of Wisconsin as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Must have no lifting or bending restrictions
- Must be flexible in work assignments, and especially during a staffing emergency willing to work in other areas if needed
- Must have an acceptable criminal background check
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to manually lift 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Previous experience in a health care facility is desired
- Good communication skills and bedside manner with a compassionate personality
- Willingness to work with all team players
