Job Summary

Deliver meals with fresh water and extra nourishment, assist with personal hygiene including baths and showers, and help patients with mobility, dressing, and toileting. Check vital signs, record daily information in resident charts, and provide additional care such as ice packs and therapeutic baths. Identify safety hazards and emergency situations, report changes in resident condition immediately, and respond to call lights promptly. Practice good infection control techniques, maintain proper body mechanics during lifting, and communicate suggestions to the Staff Nurse. Work a flexible shift in a friendly, supportive culture where residents receive quality care and comfort.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge in accordance with statutory requirements for Certified Nurse Assistant
  • Must be enrolled in and complete an approved training program and pass competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge within 120 days of employment in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Must demonstrate a moderate level of computer literacy in order to use and access our systems and tools within our facilities to complete online tasks and documentation
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact professionally with staff and residents
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry 40 pounds with 2 hands
  • Must also be able to lift, push, and carry 20 pounds with 1 hand
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible shift
  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge of good resident care practices
  • Must understand the facility's Exposure Control Plan
  • Must be able to explain how to perform procedures involving exposure to visible blood contamination and when to defer tasks and procedures involving exposure to visible blood contamination and reasonably anticipated blood contamination as designated in the Exposure Control Plan

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-term Care environment is preferred
