Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Summary
Provide non-medical home care services including personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and errands for elderly and disabled clients in clients’ homes. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as eating, bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility/ambulation, and provide transportation as needed. Prepare and serve meals, perform light housekeeping, run errands, and handle client laundry. Document services accurately per agency policies and communicate with supervisors. Must hold a valid CNA/HHA/GNA certification, CPR and First Aid certifications, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Must be flexible to work any day and any shift. Strong English communication skills and ability to work professionally with clients and team members.
Required Qualifications
- Valid current Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification.
- Valid current CPR and First Aid certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid current driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand directions in English
- Physical ability to lift and transfer clients
- Ability to contribute to a calm environment for the client and instill a confidence in Visiting Angels’ ability to meet the client’s needs
- Enthusiasm for working with elderly and disabled people
- Ability to work professionally, cooperatively, and effectively with others
- Caregiver duties including personal care, companionship, meals, light housekeeping, errands, and documentation
