Job Summary
Treat and document care for residents with impaired ability to perform independently due to disease processes under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Maintain proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English while making independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public, demonstrating patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm to handle difficult residents. Incorporate new methods and principles into existing nursing practices and relate information concerning a resident's condition. Ensure no direct threat is posed to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Required Qualifications
- certificate for Certified Nursing Assistant
- licensed CNA, in accordance with laws of this state
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
- patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
- willingness to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices
- ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition
- not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace
