Job Summary
Provide adjunct care by administering treatments such as enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, and therapeutic baths under RN and LPN supervision. Maintain patient stability through regular vital sign checks, weight monitoring, and intake/output documentation while transporting residents and responding to their requests. Report any changes in patient condition to the nursing supervisor and ensure accurate recording of all care activities through forms and medical logs. Adhere to established policies, safeguard patient privacy, and maintain current CNA and CPR/BLS certifications. Work in a skilled nursing facility setting with potential exposure to bodily fluids, requiring appropriate PPE and the ability to lift objects over 10 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited program
- Active GA CNA Certification on the Georgia Nurse Aide Registry
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to enter information into an electronic health record (EHR)
- Basic medical terminology
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- Basic computer skills to include data entry
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for infection control purposes
- Must be able to lift and carry objects over 10 lbs
- Must be able to assist with or maneuver equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, and Hoyer lifts
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE as required and lift educational materials or small equipment
