Job Summary
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse, applying understanding of basic anatomical, biological, psychological, cultural, and social sciences. Complete an Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course and obtain the Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire. Within 30 days of hire, secure National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Work full-time 36-hour weekly shifts, including day shifts, at Providence St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education which meets state certification requirements
- Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Some college courses in nursing or therapy field
- 3 months Nursing assistant experience in acute or extended care
