Job Summary
Provide assistance with activities of daily living including dressing, grooming, peri-care, toileting, and hygiene while encouraging resident independence. Serve residents in the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily and initiate leisure activities from the activity calendar. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment through general housekeeping, laundry, and adherence to established cleaning schedules. Respond promptly to resident and family requests, report changes in health and emotional wellbeing, and observe safety hazards immediately. Comply with HIPAA regulations, emergency procedures, and attendance policies while supporting a dignified, respectful atmosphere.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
