Job Summary
Assist patients with routine activities of daily living, including range of motion, ambulation, positioning, skin care, feeding, and hygiene. Collect and process patient data and specimens, obtain vital signs, and communicate status changes to licensed professionals. Perform designated procedures such as incentive spirometry, transport, diagnostic test preparation, and post-mortem care. Handle clerical duties by answering unit phones, entering data into electronic systems, and coordinating equipment needs. Maintain and clean equipment while adhering to competency-based standards. Work full-time in day or evening shifts, tolerating irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- CNA license issued by the Commonwealth of VA
- AHA BLS Provider CPR
- CPI (within 90 days of hire for Snowden at Fredericksburg)
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
- Ability to push and pull 20 lbs
- Auditory and visual skills to include color determination
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to reach above/overhead
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to cope with difficult situations
- Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Driving requirements (for Clinical positions in Mary Washington Home Health and/or Hospice)
