Job Summary
Assist with patient assessments, vital signs, and activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding. Provide wound care, administer basic laboratory tests, and document medical histories while reporting health changes to nurses. Coordinate patient appointments, maintain medical supply inventory, and manage communications. Work under nurse supervision in a controlled correctional environment with security as a top priority. Full-time, part-time, and PRN positions available with new pay rates and mileage reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current Certification as Certified Nursing Assistant in AZ
- Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
