Job Summary
Answer signal lights and bells to determine resident needs. Assist residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care. Obtain food trays and assist with feeding. Perform range of motion exercises, movement to wheelchairs, and short-distance ambulation. Record vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, as well as food and fluid intake and output. Turn and position residents in bed. Work under supervision with starting wages of $23.90 to $31.13 per hour, including a Michigan Direct Care Incentive. Requires valid CNA certification and six months of long-term care experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff
