Job Summary
Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, weights, and condition changes while documenting all activities as required. Assist patients with hygiene, elimination, skin care, and activities of daily living, ensuring infection control and HIPAA compliance. Maintain a clean, safe unit environment by stocking supplies, operating equipment, and performing routine clerical tasks. Collaborate with licensed nurses on specimen collection, patient positioning, and transportation. Recognize and report changes in patient status, taking appropriate action and securing patient belongings. Demonstrate customer service skills and effective communication in English, with bilingual abilities preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Demonstrated prior patient care experience
- Certification as a Nurse Assistant (CNA) in the state of CA
- AHA Basic Life Support
- Understanding of basic medical terminology
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only)
