Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care and assist patients with daily activities under the direction of the Staff RN or LPN. Support nursing staff with patient care plan development and ensure safe, competent care while communicating effectively with the patient care team. Report patient outcomes to the supervising nurse and maintain compliance with Idaho State Board of Nursing and Joint Commission standards. This full-time role requires CNA certification in Idaho, BLS certification, and the ability to handle considerable lifting, positioning, and transferring of patients. Candidates must maintain physical and mental health to meet job performance criteria and demonstrate a code of conduct reflective of Gritman Medical Center's mission.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant course
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Idaho
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Considerable lifting, positioning, and transferring of patients
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Good manual and finger dexterity, visual acuity, depth perception, and focusing ability
- Essential hearing, speech, and sense of touch capabilities
- Regular exposure to risks of bloodborne and other infectious diseases
- Interaction with patients under varying circumstances, including emergencies and crisis situations
- Potential exposure to hazardous fumes and unpredictable situations
- Occasionally subjected to irregular hours or shifts
