Job Summary
Provide patient care and clerical support to the nursing department while adhering to patient care practices, body mechanics, and confidentiality requirements. Execute general office procedures including data entry, equipment operation, and effective oral/written communication with patients, public, and staff. Maintain a current C.N.A. I or II certificate, obtain a valid BLS card within six months, and complete the Basic Telemetry course within one year. Work three 12-hour shifts per week at an hourly rate starting at $20.06, with benefits including medical, vision, dental, retirement plans, and paid time off. Prior hospital experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of patient care practices and techniques
- Knowledge of principles of good body mechanics
- Knowledge of cultural/age related/religious factors influencing patient behavior
- Knowledge of general office practices
- Knowledge of computer/data entry procedures
- Knowledge of operation of office equipment
- Knowledge of use of telephone systems
- Knowledge of arithmetic
- Knowledge of spelling
- Knowledge of English and grammar
- General knowledge of confidentiality concepts and requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, public, and staff both orally and in writing
- Equivalent to a high school education
- Six (6) months related experience
- Current C.N.A. I or C.N.A. II certificate, in good standing, issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
- Valid BLS card (must have or obtain within six (6) months of appointment)
- Successful completion of Basic Telemetry course within one (1) year of appointment
