Job Summary
Deliver meals, provide personal hygiene care including baths and oral care, and assist residents with mobility, dressing, and toileting. Check vital signs, document daily information in resident charts, and respond promptly to call lights. Change bedding, operate medical equipment, and practice strict infection control techniques while identifying safety hazards. Communicate resident condition changes and care suggestions to the Staff Nurse, participate in orientation for new staff, and support Eden Alternative projects. Work flexible shifts in a home-like environment focused on enhancing resident quality of life.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge in accordance with statutory requirements for Certified Nurse Assistant
- Must demonstrate a moderate level of computer literacy in order to use and access our systems and tools within our facilities to complete online tasks and documentation
- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact professionally with staff and residents
- Must possess comprehensive knowledge of good resident care practices
- Must understand the facility's Exposure Control Plan
- Must be able to explain how to perform procedures involving exposure to visible blood contamination and when to defer tasks and procedures involving exposure to visible blood contamination and reasonably anticipated blood contamination as designated in the Exposure Control Plan
- Must be able to stoop, bend, stand and walk most of an eight-hour shift
- Must be able to lift, push, and carry 40 pounds with 2 hands
- Must also be able to lift, push, and carry 20 pounds with 1 hand
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible shift
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-term Care environment is preferred
