Job Summary
Provide compassionate care to residents with age-related needs, demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate assistance. Act as a supportive team member who contributes to the team concept and makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Communicate tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies while maintaining a cheerful disposition to handle difficult situations. Relate information concerning a resident's condition and seek out new methods to incorporate into existing nursing practices. Maintain a safe workplace by ensuring you do not pose a direct threat to others. This role requires a 10th-grade education and a current Certified Nursing Assistant license, with experience preferred but not necessary for recent graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education and be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant.
