Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility. Engage residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care assistance. Respond to all resident needs and requests for care promptly, and observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral conditions to report promptly to a licensed nurse. Keep the environment safe and clean for residents and uphold resident rights at all times. Document, communicate, and report incidents in accordance with community policy, and assist other staff as needed on the floor. Maintain knowledge of resident care plans and utilize specific resident lifts in accordance with training. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Washington State
- NARs, EAs, RAs, and/or HCAs will need additional training and testing prior to working and earning the same rate as a CNA
- Must have ability to gain CPR/ First-Aid certification as needed in accordance with company policy and applicable state rules and regulations
- Must be drug-free and submit to drug screening upon hire and routinely
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations
- Must possess an upbeat, positive, flexible, and enthusiastic personality and be congenial with fellow employees, residents, and the public at large
- Must be an honest and dependable individual
- Must maintain proper hygiene
- Must be professional in dress and presentation
- Must be willing to be active during entire work shift
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in Standard English and use own judgment and initiative in daily activities
- Must be a mature individual
- Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice
- Must have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Must be detail and team work oriented
- Must attend required in-services / workshops to further education of skills and community requirements
- Must be able to gain CPR/ First-Aid certification as needed in accordance with company policy and applicable state rules and regulations
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in accordance with state regulations including maintaining CEs and licensure requirements
- Passed an approved food handler's or ServSafe course as required by County, State and/or Community policy
- Must abide by the Community dress code policy
- Will utilize specific resident lifts in accordance with training and community policy
- This role is a 100% on-site required role
- Must possess qualities of leadership, tact, and adaptability to change
- Must uphold community dress policy
- Must be capable of following oral and written instruction
- Must display and use own good judgement and initiative in daily duties
- Weekend time required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand, walk, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Must be regularly required to talk and hear
- Must be frequently required to stand, walk, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Must be regularly required to use hands to handle or feel
- Must be frequently required to reach with hands and arms
