Job Summary

Provide direct care to residents under supervision by assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Monitor vital signs, intake, and output while documenting observations accurately. Support mobility, transfers, and social activities, and maintain clean living environments with infection control. Assist with admission, transfers, and discharges, and participate in care planning and team meetings. Maintain current CNA certification, CPR certification, and one year of skilled nursing facility experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state you work.
  • CPR certification.
  • 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar medical setting.
  • Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, resident-centered care with empathy and compassion.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning and intervention implementation.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.
  • Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
  • Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
  • Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
  • Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
  • The job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
  • The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
