Job Summary
Provide basic patient care and activities of daily living under close supervision while maintaining a 1:12 patient ratio. Obtain vital signs, differentiate abnormal findings, and report conditions to the RN/LPN. Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement prioritized care plans, participate in discharge planning, and perform chart audits for quality improvement. Transport patients and deliver medications, blood products, and specimens using the pneumatic tube system. Adhere to infection control practices and hospital policies while documenting care in EPIC or Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Qualifications
- CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Microsoft Office Suite
- High School Diploma or GED
- Work experience of less than 1 year
- Ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and applicability of the principles of growth and development over the life span
- Ability to assess data reflecting the patient's status and interpreting appropriate cultural information of the patient(s)
- Ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, employees, and the public
- Access to the pneumatic tube system to transport items, including blood products and medications, to and from the tube and the desired location
