Job Summary
Provide basic patient care under nursing direction, including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, moving patients, and changing linens. Maintain active nursing aide certification in the state of operation and demonstrate knowledge of age-related resident needs. Communicate resident conditions clearly while supporting the team with patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition. Handle difficult residents effectively and relate relevant information to care plans. Experience with patients of all ages in a skilled nursing facility setting is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing aide certification in the state of operation
- Experience with patients of all ages in a SNF setting
- Certified or state tested Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of the state
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
- Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
- Willingness to handle difficult residents
- Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition
