Job Summary
Assist with all aspects of resident care as assigned by the nurse or shift supervisor, including activities of daily living, ambulation, mobility, and nutrition. Provide safe and supportive observation, monitor assigned residents, and document information factually and objectively within acceptable time frames. Observe, identify, and report resident concerns or needs to the shift supervisor. Complete assignments timely, completely, and accurately while maintaining professional appearance and punctuality. Provide necessary assistance for oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and drinking. Drive state vehicles to transport patients to outside facility appointments and act as a sitter during hospital stays. Work 3 days a week in 12-hour shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) at the State of Florida Psychiatric Hospital in Chattahoochee, FL.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
- Must possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant license in Florida
- Must be BLS certified through the American Heart Association
- Must be able to complete full, two-week orientation at time of hire
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of position including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
- Must be able to remain alert while on duty
- Must be able to work 16-hour shifts on occasion
- Must be able to drive state vehicles transporting patients to outside facility doctor appointments and hospitals
- Must be able to be a sitter with the patient during an outside hospital stay
