Communicate with the professional registered nurse and perform patient care tasks including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, and electrode placement. Conduct basic patient care services such as measuring height and weight, tracking intake and output, and stocking patient rooms. Maintain a conducive environment by keeping rooms clutter-free, removing linen and trash, and ensuring quiet surroundings. Support patient and family communication by answering call lights, orienting new patients, and assisting with discharge appointments. Promote safety through mobility assistance and safety rounds, while providing comfort items like water, ice, cups, pillows, and blankets. Transport non-monitored patients and assist with monitored or intubated transports. Requires CNA certification or AEMT licensure with BLS within 14 days of hire.
