Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for obstetrical and gynecological patients, including managing labor, delivery, and postpartum courses. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and revise nurse midwifery guidelines, issue prescriptions, and conduct continuous case reviews. Provide 12-hour on-call coverage for telephone triage and manage obstetrical emergencies while maintaining clear documentation. Participate in nursing committees, initiate research projects, and pursue continued learning in clinical areas. Requires a Certified Nurse Midwife license and preferred master's degree.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Midwife - Board of Registration in Nursing (Massachusetts)
- Board of Registration in Nursing (Massachusetts)
- 12 hour laborist call shifts, daytime and nighttime (7a - 7p and 7p - 7a)
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Graduate of an approved program o Midwifery
- Masters Degree preferred
- Previous nurse midwifery experience preferred
- Ability to work with frequent stress resulting from an active caseload, busy clinical settings and 24 hour on-call coverage
- Ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in addressing responsibilities of position
