Job Summary
Evaluate and monitor patient health conditions while assessing status through medical record review, history, and physical examinations. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, admit and discharge patients, and perform gynecologic and obstetrical procedures including contraceptive provision and limited OB ultrasound. Prescribe medications, complete clinical documentation, and support patient autonomy through education on treatment options. Supervise and teach midwifery, nurse-practitioner, and medical students in the clinical setting. Requires a Master's degree, 1-3 years of inpatient/outpatient midwifery experience, and CNM licensure. Shifts rotate between days and nights.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Graduate of a nationally accredited midwife degree program
- 1-3 years Inpatient and outpatient midwifery care
- CNM-Certified Nurse Midwife - AMCB - American Midwifery Certification Board
- NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA - American Heart Association
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association
- DEAREG-DEA Registration - DEA - Drug Enforcement Agency
- CNM-Certified Nurse Midwife - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
- CNMRXN-Nurse Midwife Prescriber - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
- Knowledge base consistent with core competencies of basic midwifery practice
- Skill translating scientific evidence to clinical practice
- Skill in diagnostic and treatment techniques
- Skill in empathic communication and trauma informed care
- Ability to educate other employees, midwifery students, nurse-practitioner students, medical students and residents in the clinical setting
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems
- Shift Rotating (Days and Nights)
