Job Summary
Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women and newborns, including routine gynecological exams, family planning services, and labor and delivery assistance. Monitor maternal and infant health during and after childbirth, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests as needed. Collaborate with OB-GYNs and other healthcare professionals while educating patients on reproductive health and newborn care. Maintain accurate medical records in the electronic health record and advocate for holistic, patient-centered care. Work day shifts with variable scheduling at Tacoma General Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Auburn Medical Center. Hourly rate is $95.49. Contact Sheree Keen for more information.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Washington State
- Successful completion of an American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)-accredited nurse-midwifery program
- Current active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or its predecessor, the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Certification Council), or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which he or she is eligible
- Clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women's health
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
- DEA, NPI & Prescriptive authority
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
- Professional liability insurance coverage issued by a recognized company and in an amount equal to or greater than the limits established by the governing body
- Completion of Fetal Heart Monitoring education as per MHS Fetal Monitoring Requirements for Initial Applicants, which needs to be completed within 60 days of being granted privileges and remain current at the time of reappointment
- Minimum of 1 year inpatient midwifery experience
