Job Summary
Provide full-scope nurse-midwifery services including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, well woman care, and family planning according to established protocols. Perform history and physical exams, manage acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians, and order/interpret diagnostic tests like ultrasounds and blood work. Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, administer medications and IVs during labor, and provide emotional support throughout pregnancy and birth. Maintain accurate medical records and participate in interdisciplinary teams to develop annual care plans. Maintain active hospital delivery privileges as requested. Full-scope Certified Nurse Midwives in Reston, VA are required to have a Master's degree, active RN license, and CNM certification.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher education in nursing with a specialization in midwifery
- Active license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccination or an approved request for accommodation
