Job Summary
Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff on the 200 Medical-Surgical unit. Perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties as assigned. Obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and reports any changes in patient condition. In the training pathway, function within classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel, with competency assessment upon completion to validate learning. The program, labeled Nurse Assistant Training, leads toward Certified Nurse Assistant/Nurse Assistant roles and supports a clinical ladder within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Prior patient care or health care related experience preferred
- 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in inpatient or long-term care setting OR completed Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program OR completed fundamentals of nursing course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR Missouri CNA License OR MO CNA license (to be obtained within 120 days of hire)
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks
