Job Summary
Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff, including taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. Obtain information on patient condition as requested and report any changes in status. Perform these duties within a classroom and clinical learning environment while obtaining training as unlicensed assistive personnel. Complete a competency assessment to validate learning upon finishing the training program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years
- Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years
- Completed the fundamentals of nursing course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program
- Must have Missouri CNA License
- Must have MO CNA Appendix
- MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
- Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days
