Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Job Summary
Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene while changing linens, washing laundry, and maintaining a safe environment. Measure and report vital signs, intake and output, and observe health changes; assist with feeding, hydration, ambulation, and patient positioning. Administer basic treatments such as enemas, heat/ice packs, and non-sterile dressings, and support medication adherence as directed. Prepare meals according to dietary needs and offer companionship, conversation, and emotional support. Accompany patients to medical appointments or errands as needed, document care, and communicate effectively with the nursing team. Provide care for pediatric patients or disabled family members and assist with post-mortem care in hospice settings.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an approved CNA program
- Ability to lift up to 75–100 pounds and stand or walk for prolonged periods
- Must pass any required pre-employment screenings and background checks
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 1 year of direct care experience preferred (hospice or home care a plus)
- Compassionate heart and a desire to make a difference
- Dependability and strong communication skills
- Comfort working with patients facing chronic illness or end-of-life care
- Willingness to assist in all aspects of care and maintain a respectful, dignified environment
