Job Summary
Assist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care under the direction and supervision of the charge nurse. Perform patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while collecting data, taking vital signs, and monitoring conditions for skin changes, appetite, and symptoms. Deliver personal care including oral hygiene, ambulation, feeding, and specimen collection for lab and physician review. Administer simple treatments under nurse direction such as enemas and catheter care, while maintaining equipment and cleaning utility rooms. Complete assignments with 100% accuracy in intake and output recording, attend in-service training, and rotate to other areas when requested by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of course for nursing assistants
- CPR up to date
- Must be able to read and understand printed material, written instructions
- Lift weights over 25 lbs
- Visual and hearing acuity as well as cognitive function to make observations and communicate these to other staff
