Job Summary
Provide nursing services and health-related training to school staff and students under the clinical direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, and provide educational support to students under licensed staff and administrators. Supervise students in various settings and monitor for safety concerns. Special Education Assistant duties include providing educational support to all students under licensed staff with a focus on supporting Individual Education Plans and Behavior Support Plans. Requires CNA license, bilingual English/Spanish, and HQ status with two years post-secondary education or an associate degree (or higher) or approved academic assessment. 10-month calendar, part-time role involving collaboration with district staff to support health, safety, and educational outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license or higher
- Proficient English oral and written communication
- Proficient in computer and Internet applications
- Hold a valid certificate in a District approved student intervention system or be able to obtain in 60 days
- Bilingual English/Spanish required/preferred
- Experience working with children
- Highly Qualified status required (two years of post-secondary education or an associate (or higher) degree; or District approved academic assessment)
