Job Summary
Provide quality care to residents in compliance with established policies and procedures while actively participating as a team member. Meet personal hygiene, bathing, and grooming needs; document vital signs, elimination, and incontinence; and assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation. Monitor resident activity calendars, report signs of illness or distress, and participate in care planning conferences. Maintain infection control standards, follow safety measures, and attend mandatory educational programs including orientation and 12 CEUs annually. Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, with schedules subject to change based on department requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Certified as a Nurse Aide with the New York State Department of Health
- Current Heartsaver certification
- Nursing Assistant experience preferred
- Demonstrates professionalism, team effort, kindness and concern for the residents and other employees
- Required to work weekends, holidays and various shifts as needed
- Involves standing and walking most of the day
- Required to lift, move, position and transfer/transport equipment and residents
- Ability to adjust to various staff members, assignments and clinical areas
- Exposed regularly to disagreeable odors, sights, body wastes, etc
- May be exposed to contagious disease and infection
- May sustain injury due to irrational resident
- Category I exposure to blood, body fluids and tissues
- Must possess the highest ethical standards with respect to discretion and regard for confidential information
- Is responsible for attending all mandatory educational programs as required by position including successful completion of orientation program and maintains 12 CEU's per year (6 CEU's per 6 months)
