Job Summary
Provide quality care to residents in compliance with established policies and procedures, including personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and dressing. Monitor and document vital signs, height/weight, and I&O's while reporting signs of illness, distress, or injuries to the Nurse on duty. Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation, ensuring adherence to rehabilitation measures and activity calendars. Maintain infection control standards, safety equipment competency, and resident rights protocols. Participate in care conferences and mandatory educational programs, including orientation and annual CEUs. Work weekends, holidays, and various shifts as needed, with schedules subject to change based on departmental requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Certified as a Nurse Aide with the New York State Department of Health
- Current Heartsaver certification
- Must possess the highest ethical standards with respect to discretion and regard for confidential information
- Required to work weekends, holidays and various shifts as needed
- Involves standing and walking most of the day
- Required to lift, move, position and transfer/transport equipment and residents
- Ability to adjust to various staff members, assignments and clinical areas
- Exposure to blood, body fluids and tissues
