Job Summary

Deliver and assist residents with daily personal care needs, prepare them for activities, and complete nursing procedures under Licensed Nurse Supervisor direction. Weigh residents, measure vital signs, document intake and output, and maintain clean water pitchers. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), prepare residents for meals and exams, and accompany them to appointments. Record entries on flow sheets, report condition changes, and participate in care planning and facility training programs. Perform routine housekeeping, disinfect equipment, and follow infection prevention protocols. Work a twelve-hour rotating night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Maintain current Texas CNA certification and demonstrate knowledge of age-related resident needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Texas Licensed Certified Nursing Aide (CNA)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Twelve Hour Rotating Shift
  • Night 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  • Able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet
  • Able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
  • Be a supportive Team Member
  • Contribute to and be an example of Teamwork and concept
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
  • Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
  • Demonstrate patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and have the capability and soft skills to handle difficult residents
  • Seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices
  • Relate information concerning a resident's conditions
  • Not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace
