Job Summary
Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to work Part Time / PerDiem in the medical department at the Carroll County Detention Center in Westminster, MD. Provide comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of an RN. Must hold CNA. Schedule: Weekend Shifts 3 pm to 11 pm. Responsibilities include initial intake screening on new receptions, taking vital signs and completing intake forms, preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas, performing daily medication passes, maintaining medication records, typing various reports/letters/memoranda, answering the telephone and processing calls, maintaining filing system and confidentiality, following universal precautions, maintaining a pleasant working attitude, and any other duties as assigned. Two-week orientation with on-the-job training and shadowing with nursing staff. Required Qualifications
- Completed an approved CMT program
- Dually certified as a CMT/CNA
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills
- Pleasant telephone manner
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment
