Job Summary
Prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and community protocols. Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and perform vital signs checks. Maintain accurate records in the EHR system and assist with medication inventory, ordering, and compliance with storage regulations. Communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff while collaborating with the Wellness Director and care team to support individualized care plans. Keep the medication area clean and organized, providing compassionate service that respects residents' mobility and cognitive needs. Work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medication Administration training program
- One year experience providing direct care to seniors in a long term care setting
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods
- Ability to move comfortably and safely, which can include lifting, bending, stretching, squatting, etc.
- Ability to safely support resident mobility and perform physical duties associated with caregiving
