Certified Medication Technician

Administer PRN and regularly prescribed medications to nursing facility residents after authorization from a licensed nurse or physician, including preparing, pouring, passing, and documenting all routine doses. Take and record vital signs prior to administration, observe and report reactions or side effects, and document all activities per State Standards. Count narcotics at the charge nurse's discretion and administer oxygen via nasal channel or non-sealing face mask only in emergencies, followed by immediate verbal notification and documentation. Requires current certification from a state-approved school of medication administration and a valid acknowledgment card.
