Certified Medication Technician- Day Shift

Job Summary

Administer medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, nurse supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services under facility policies. Accurately measure, record, and report vital signs while noting and reporting any medication errors, including reactions, with written reports signed by an observer and the technician. Assist in developing procedures to determine medication error causes and implement preventive programs. Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports for drug receipt and clinical records. Promptly notify supervisors of errors or adverse reactions. Maintain high school education and state-approved medication technician licensure. Required Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed medication tech having successfully completed a state-approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with laws of this State.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
