Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under charge nurse supervision, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and obtaining vital signs. Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within scope of practice. Document care outcomes, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary responses. Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens, assist with transfers and re-positioning, and support wellness and recreational programs. Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining while maintaining clean living areas.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the state required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA)
- Active certified nursing assistant registration in state of practice, or ability to obtain within 120 days, is required
- Must have nursing assistant certification, have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
- Successful completion of a state-approved Trained Medication Assistant course
- Must successfully complete the state approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course
- CMA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing
- CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing
- Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 18 preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
